About The Position

Our Tyler, Texas office is seeking a talented Accountant – FEIC to work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy, working with large amounts of numerical data, handle multiple tasks with deadlines, and provide transparent and complete reports to management. You should have a firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and regulations and possess strong computer, verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements

Office manager or progressive accounting responsibility experience preferred
Great Plains, Quickbooks and AMS360 experience preferred
Strong organizational, excel, analytical, communication, customer service and computer skills
Understanding of mathematics and accounting and financial processes
Ethical behavior
Attention to detail
Ability to work overtime as needed to achieve reporting deadlines
Occasional travel may be required

Responsibilities

Vendor invoice payment processing for FEIC entities
Journal entries for periodic financial statement reporting purposes for FEIC entities
Complying with all company, local, state, federal and CIMA accounting and financial regulations (surplus lines, sales & use tax, 1099s, etc.)
Billings and collections for insurance deductibles and reinsurance recoveries.
Financial statement reporting for FEIC by 45 days from each quarter end.
Complex and large volume of reconciliations (bank accounts, insurance program bordereaux by carrier and program year, security deposits, fixed assets, etc.)
Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data
Creating periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc. for multiple entities
Maintaining accurate financial records
Performing reconciliation audits and resolving discrepancies
Preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
