About The Position

Lead Therapy Services at Cedarcrest. Cedarcrest is a specialized center serving children with developmental differences and complex medical needs. Located in Keene, New Hampshire, our therapy, education, nursing, and direct care teams work together to provide individualized support to the children and families we serve. We are looking for a Rehabilitation Therapy Manager to provide clinical leadership for therapy services across our residential and day student programs. Reporting to the Director of Special Education, this position provides clinical support to therapy staff while helping ensure that children receive appropriate and effective rehabilitation services.

Requirements

Five years of experience working within a health care setting, preferably in pediatrics, including a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
Strong clinical judgment and the ability to provide guidance and support to therapy staff.
Ability to effectively manage departmental responsibilities while maintaining clinical responsibilities.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Oversee the provision of rehabilitation services to residents and day students.
Assist in identifying the service needs of children.
Monitor the delivery of physical, occupational, and speech therapy services and provide clinical oversight of therapy programs for each child.
Assist teams in ensuring that each child’s related service needs are met, including direct service, consultation, and adaptive equipment.
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and team meetings and relay information to appropriate staff.
Coordinate orientation and in-service training provided by therapy staff to ensure proper preparation of new staff and appropriate follow-through of programming for residents.
Monitor the caseloads of therapy staff and provide support and guidance regarding time management as needed.
Work with the Director of Special Education to ensure appropriate documentation of treatment for therapy services.
Provide monthly billing information to the Business Office.
Recommend equipment and supplies needed by the therapy department.
Ensure representation of therapy staff on interdepartmental committees, such as Safety, In-Service, and Wellness Committees.
Fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the applicable Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Therapist job description.
Provide clinical leadership to therapy staff and collaborate with the Director of Special Education on administrative oversight.
Serve as a role model for staff through professional conduct, mutual respect, leadership, ethical decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
Identify department staffing needs and participate in recruiting and orienting new staff.
Oversee scheduling and time and attendance for staff within the department.
Provide clinical oversight of the department and foster a cohesive departmental team.
Establish, monitor, and modify departmental procedures as needed.
Develop quality measures for the department’s work and assist staff in striving toward and achieving them.
Coach staff and provide ongoing feedback on performance.
Collaborate with the Director of Special Education on performance reviews of therapy staff in accordance with Cedarcrest policies.
Hold periodic staff meetings and encourage staff to attend and participate in general staff meetings.
Participate in Program Managers meetings.
Participate in other interdisciplinary meetings as requested, including QAPI, Safety, In-Service, Ethics, and Human Rights Committees.
Work with the Director of Special Education regarding department budget and productivity.
Identify and support training and staff development needs within the department.
Participate in on-site and at least one off-site management training program annually.
