About The Position

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield, a 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital operated jointly with Lifepoint Health, provides rehabilitation services for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions. The Rehabilitation Technician works under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist and, as directed by a licensed physician, is responsible for specific patient care. The role follows hospital and departmental policies and supports high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• CPR/BCLS certification.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• At least six months of experience in an acute or long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Transport, lift, transfer, move, and reposition patients in patient rooms, the Therapy Gym, and other common areas of the hospital.
• Prepare patients for prescribed treatment and assist professional staff with patient treatment.
• Prepare, clean, and maintain treatment areas and equipment.
• Procure and maintain an accurate inventory of therapy supplies.
• Perform routine clerical tasks for the Therapy Department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
