About The Position

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield, a 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital operated jointly with Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Rehabilitation Technician for a PRN, varied-shift role. The hospital serves patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions. The Rehabilitation Technician works under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist and, as directed by a licensed physician, is responsible for specific patient care. The role follows hospital and departmental policies while maintaining high-quality patient care. The position involves patient mobility and treatment support, maintaining treatment areas and equipment, managing therapy supplies, and performing routine clerical tasks. Requirements

• High school diploma.
• CPR/BCLS certification.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to transport, lift, transfer, move, and reposition patients.

Nice To Haves

• At least six months of experience in an acute or long-term care facility.
• Passion for helping others and a team-player approach.

Responsibilities

• Transport, lift, transfer, move, and reposition patients in patient rooms, the Therapy Gym, and other common areas of the hospital.
• Prepare patients for prescribed treatment and assist professional staff with patient treatment.
• Prepare, clean, and maintain treatment areas and equipment.
• Procure and maintain an accurate inventory of therapy supplies.
• Perform routine clerical tasks for the Therapy Department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
