About The Position

The Rehabilitation Technician, under the direct supervision of the Clinic Director, will be responsible for patient care, support, and guidance, executing plans of care under the guidance of PT/OT providers. This role involves the proper set up and adjustment of exercise equipment, assisting with the set up and delivery of modalities, and utilizing appropriate educational techniques to ensure patient understanding of exercises. The technician will monitor patient safety and response to exercise intensity, and discuss patient performance with PT/OT providers. Additionally, the role includes managing clinic flow by monitoring patient arrivals, ensuring patients start on time, maintaining clinic cleanliness, and ordering supplies. Front-end tasks such as check-in, co-pay collection, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and communicating with referral teams about patient insurance benefits are also key responsibilities. Schedule management for clinicians, including confirmation calls and rescheduling, is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • CPR certification required (certification offered through Duly Health and Care)
  • High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of common medical terminology and abbreviations.
  • Understand principles, as well as contraindications/precautions in the use of therapy modalities.
  • Can identify proper patient set-up on each piece of equipment with the ability to adjust.
  • Identify planes of movement and demonstrate proper exercise positioning.
  • Team-oriented.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Problem solving, lateral thinking and reasoning skills.
  • Communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Patient care, support, and guidance
  • Execute plans of care under guidance of PT/OT providers.
  • Proper set up and adjustment of exercise equipment.
  • Assist with set up and delivery of modalities (e.g., electrical stimulation, ultrasound, hot/cold packs, etc.)
  • Utilize appropriate educational techniques including demonstration and cueing to ensure patient understanding of exercises.
  • Monitor patient safety and response to exercise intensity.
  • Discuss patient performance with PT/OT provider.
  • Monitor patient arrivals to department.
  • Start patients on time for scheduled appointments/keep patients apprised of any clinician delays.
  • Maintain cleanliness of clinic, including waiting areas, exam rooms, and all equipment.
  • Order all supplies to keep clinic stocked, under direction from Manager.
  • Perform necessary front-end tasks including but not limited to check-in, co-pay/financial responsibility collection, answering phones, and scheduling future appointments.
  • Communicate via chat with PT/OT and Chiropractic referral team regarding patient insurance benefits.
  • Schedule management for clinicians (i.e., patient confirmation calls, rescheduling patients as needed).
