About The Position
The Rehabilitation Assistant works in Sheppard Pratt’s Residential Rehabilitation Program, which serves individuals with serious mental illness who have difficulty maintaining housing. The role provides direct-care support for mental health treatment and helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment that promotes clients’ independence and well-being. Staff receive thorough training and ongoing mentorship from senior team members. The posting lists pay rates of $17.50 and $19 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Willingness to obtain additional certifications and training as required.
- Driver’s license with 3 points or less.
- Access to an insured vehicle.
- Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays depending on program needs.

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Responsibilities
- Help clients learn or regain skills for successful community and independent living and socialization, acting as a residential counselor assistant.
- Assist with medication compliance, including responsibility for safety, dosage, and cleanliness.
- Collaborate with the service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
- Transport clients to medical appointments and attend appointments with them.
- Advocate for clients during appointments and ensure follow-up instructions are documented and/or followed through on.
