Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Westborough, MA is actively seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Aide to join our inpatient team full-time. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to follow directions, coordinate a variety of responsibilities and receive supervision from several sources.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Interpersonal ease with empathy for adult rehabilitation and geriatric patients.
  • Certification in BLS of Adult, Child and Infant.
  • Exhibit willingness and flexibility cooperatively with all levels of staff and disciplines and function as an effective team member.
  • Knowledge, experience and competency in dealing with adult rehabilitation and geriatric age group.
  • Knowledge of growth and development across the life span.
  • Two years in related healthcare profession.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of and as instructed by the licensed therapist, assists with individualized treatment on land and aquatics, including therapeutic exercises, therapeutic transfers, therapeutic ADL's, cognitive and communicative therapy activities, therapeutic feeding, and therapeutic recreational activities.
  • Assist in splinting.
  • Responsible for recording patient care provided per departmental guidelines.
  • Conduct and coordinate group activities as outlined by a licensed clinician.
  • Coordinates/ schedules transportation needs of patients within the hospital.
  • Assists with discharge home visits and community outings as instructed by a licensed therapist.
  • Assesses and records patients oxygen saturation level via finger oximetry as instructed by a licensed therapist.
  • Maintains appropriate patient care documentation as instructed by a licensed therapist.
  • Coverage for Outpatient Admissions Coordinator as needed.
  • Maintain safety, cleanliness and orderliness of all clinical areas including equipment daily.
  • Maintains status of and delivers equipment to patients as instructed by a licensed therapist.
  • Monitors daily chemical levels in pool.
  • Adheres to the policies adopted by the hospital.
  • Complies with all hospital safety and health regulations.
  • Treats patients, their families, visitors, and other staff members with respect, courtesy.
  • Demonstrates teamwork by possessing a considerate, friendly, and constructive attitude, and by the ability to work openly and honestly with other staff members with flexibility, support and cooperation.
  • Sets goals and demonstrates actions toward self-improvements.
  • Utilizes appropriate means of communication.
