About The Position

The Rehabilitation Aide works under the direction and immediate supervision of therapists, assisting with patient-care activities and completing routine department clerical tasks. The role supports safe, efficient therapy services by preparing and maintaining equipment and supplies, assisting with patient activities and transportation, and providing front-desk support as needed. Evening availability is needed for the stated 11:30 pm to 8:00 pm schedule.

Requirements

• High school diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED-equivalent program.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
• BLS Certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Model and maintain a safe environment for service delivery.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living using proper body mechanics.
• Clean and disinfect equipment according to policy.
• Maintain supplies and equipment, track inventory, and order supplies or notify appropriate staff to order them.
• Monitor patients following established exercise programs and safely ambulate patients under professional supervision.
• Distribute linen, hot and cold packs, and supplies; handle laundry; put away equipment; and perform equipment clearing and maintenance.
• Clean wheelchairs, weights, mats, and tables between uses, and prepare and clean whirlpools as directed by the therapist.
• Transport patients to appropriate treatment areas in an orderly and timely manner.
• Notify the supervisor of unsafe conditions and handle emergency situations appropriately.
• Assist therapists in maintaining department efficiency, particularly during periods of high patient volume.
• Provide clerical and front-desk support as needed, including answering phones, relaying messages, greeting patients, copying, filing, maintaining charts, and scheduling patient appointments.
• Develop rapport and mutual respect with patients and team members to foster an environment that supports goal achievement.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
• Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
