Rehab Therapy Extern
About The Position
SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture with Select Medical, is seeking a Rehab Therapy Extern (PT/OT/SLP students) for PRN weekend shifts (8a-4:30p) at its inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Lake St. Louis, MO. This hospital is dedicated to providing exceptional and compassionate care for individuals with a wide range of conditions including brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The extern will assist patients in their rehabilitation process under the direction of a therapist and help prepare and maintain equipment and the physical plant for daily activities. The role offers an extensive orientation program, opportunities for advancement, and benefits such as 401k eligibility (based on hours worked) and an employee assistance program.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a physical, occupational, speech therapy academic program required
- Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in the rehabilitation process through provision of requested activities.
- Prepare and maintain equipment and the physical plant for daily activities.
