About The Position

Preferred Therapy Solutions is hiring a part-time Rehab Tech for its Melville, New York location at Huntington Hills. The position is approximately 25 hours per week, with morning hours preferred. The Rehab Tech assists rehabilitation staff with patient-related activities in accordance with state licensure and Practice Acts requirements, and performs technical and light administrative duties for the Rehabilitation Department.

Requirements

• Hold a Certified Nurses Assistant (C.N.A.) credential, be currently enrolled in a therapy program such as PTA or COTA school, or have completed Preferred Therapy Solutions Competency.
• Hold a high school diploma or Graduate Equivalency Degree.
• Demonstrate concise oral and written communication skills with rehabilitation staff, facility staff, patients, and families.
• Demonstrate regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with treatment activities assigned by the treating therapist.
• Transport patients to and from the rehabilitation department for scheduled treatment and assist with transfers.
• Prepare patients for therapy as directed by the supervising therapist.
• Help modify patient equipment, including wheelchairs and splints, as needed.
• Immediately report patient responses to treatment and changes in medical status to the supervising therapist.
• Perform computer data entry and generate reports as requested.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation of direct and indirect time, payroll, efficiency, and clinical reporting.
• Follow HIPAA confidentiality standards and Infection Control, Universal Precautions, and OSHA standards for healthcare professionals.
• Communicate verbally and in writing in a professional and clear manner.
• Perform clerical duties, including answering calls, photocopying, filing, faxing, scanning or uploading documents, and ordering supplies.
• Keep the rehabilitation area and equipment neat, clean, and safe.
• Attend in-services and facility meetings as required.
• Work cooperatively in group situations, demonstrate flexibility and team building, and promote a positive work environment.
• Apply a customer service philosophy to promote value and customer loyalty.
• Arrive on time and adhere to the work schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
