About The Position

This role is more than a job; it's about coordinating schedules, facilitating program development and accreditation, and providing direct patient care as a member of the program treatment team. The supervisor will conduct patient evaluations and provide treatment within their respective discipline.

Requirements

  • 5 years Physical therapy
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider from AHA
  • Required Certification Name: Physical Therapist
  • Required Issuer: Louisiana Physical Therapy Board
  • Licensure Speciality: Licensure

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of departmental employees including orientation, competency assessment, performance evaluation, and handling personnel matters.
  • Provides clinical oversight and assistance to program staff, monitors documentation, and maintains employee accountability.
  • Participates in employee interviews and hiring decisions, and assists in the program orientation of new staff.
  • Facilitates and participates in program development and accreditation/re-accreditation activities.
  • Maintains open communication with leadership to ensure program needs are met and plans activities to develop the program.
  • Delegates tasks to program staff and assures follow-through.
  • Provides input to budget.
  • Completes patient evaluations/re-evaluations and treatment plans.
  • Identifies patient's functional deficits and incorporates patient/family goals into treatment plans.
  • Completes FIM data within designated timelines (Inpatient only).
  • Provides treatment utilizing various interventions and techniques consistent with established goals.
  • Manages caseload and meets established productivity goals.
  • Works with patient/family and team members for discharge planning, recommends follow-up services, and completes arrangements for equipment and supplies.
  • Provides educational materials and training appropriate to the patient's and family's level of understanding.
  • Documents interventions, progress notes, and conducts reassessments as needed.
  • Completes daily charge sheets consistent with documentation.
  • Monitors treatment plans for all patients in the program and communicates them to patients.
  • Engages with admitting and consulting physicians as required.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement activities.
