The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care. The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model. The Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit on the third floor of Dodd Hospital provides comprehensive rehab care for individuals 16+ with brain injury, spinal cord injury, and oncology diagnoses. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team and maintains a strong focus on staff and patient safety, clinical excellence, and professional growth.
