This full-time position supports the efficiency of the Licensed Therapy Provider and the smooth functioning of the rehabilitation department. The role involves direct patient contact activities under supervision, such as patient positioning, transfers, preparation and application of therapeutic modalities, assisting with exercises, and gait training. The Rehab Clerical Aide improves therapist efficiency by starting patient treatments during overlaps and employing problem-solving strategies. They communicate effectively with patients and therapists, anticipate needs, and relay patient status changes and responses to treatment. Responsibilities also include registration, scheduling, cashiering, admitting, and follow-up of patients, coordinating appointments, and performing general reception/clerical duties like answering phones, taking messages, greeting patients, billing, faxing, photocopying, assembling records, and managing mail. The role requires reviewing therapy orders in the electronic medical records system, maintaining department files, processing billing/reimbursement forms, completing insurance verifications and authorizations, and monitoring the therapy environment to ensure patient experience standards are met. Additionally, the aide will order, stock, and organize supplies and equipment, manage linens, monitor office equipment, and clean/disinfect treatment areas and equipment according to established standards. Routine maintenance and safety checks are also part of the duties.
