About The Position

The Rehab Aide supports the daily operations of the Physical Therapy department at Cottage Hospital. The role assists therapists with patient care, safely transports patients, performs clerical duties, maintains clean and organized treatment spaces, and supports therapeutic programs under supervision. The position also works with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Cardiac Rehab staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants with patient transfers and ambulation.
• Support restorative rehabilitation programs, including walking and exercise routines that do not involve skilled therapy.
• Assist Occupational Therapy staff with activity-based care programs.
• Support Cardiac Rehab staff by monitoring patient vital signs.
• Transport inpatients and outpatients between rooms and therapy areas while following safety protocols.
• Set up treatment rooms with required equipment and supplies.
• Clean and maintain the therapy gym, treatment rooms, and storage areas.
• Restock supplies and keep department equipment clean to meet standards.
• Cover the reception area and assist with filing as needed.
• Manage time effectively to complete tasks promptly and efficiently.
