About The Position

Under limited supervision, this role performs a variety of administrative and clerical functions in a high-volume, fast-paced document processing environment. Duties include validating, analyzing, and accurately entering data from documents received from law enforcement agencies, courts, and various public and private entities as they relate to driver records. Responsibilities require applying knowledge of policies, rules, and state statutes governing the issuance, renewal, revocation, suspension, and reinstatement of Georgia driver's licenses while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance while processing sensitive information and meeting agency established goals. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for responding to inquiries from management, team members, and customers in a professional, courteous, and timely manner while upholding the core values of the Department of Driver Services. The incumbent may also participate in assigned task teams and workgroups. Success in this role requires maintaining a positive attitude, the ability to sit for extended periods, comfort with performing repetitive tasks, and adaptability in a fast-paced, continuously evolving work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of general office or administrative experience
  • Maintains strict confidentiality while handling sensitive and protected information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of interpreting and applying state laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making skills with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in reviewing and processing information.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining goals and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Comfort with performing repetitive tasks.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, continuously evolving work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in business administration or related areas
  • At least three years of experience working in a fast-paced office setting updating information on the computer systems.
