Be part of a team where performance, collaboration, and innovation come together to drive success. We are actively seeking an experienced Regulatory Advisor to join our Calgary office. Reporting to the Team Lead, Regulatory, this role leads and supports regulatory compliance initiatives, with a primary focus on provincial and federal air emissions reporting and data management. The successful candidate partners with development and operations teams, builds effective relationships with regulators, and contributes to corporate governance, reporting, and assurance activities.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of experience in oil and gas regulatory compliance management and reporting.
  • Post-secondary education in Business/Commerce, Science/Environmental Science, or Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of provincial (Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan) and federal regulations for upstream oil and gas operations, applications, and reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Minimal field travel required; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and improve data integration, collection, and workflows supporting the air emissions assurance framework (e.g., equipment and hierarchies, facility inventories, MSAPR engines and testing, SWIM, FEMP, MOC).
  • Support air emissions compliance reporting across BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan, including methane, benzene, NPRI, MSAPR, and provincial/federal GHG reporting and forecasting.
  • Provide technical guidance, compliance support, and quality control for data collection and metrics reporting across Strathcona assets and facilities.
  • Identify and advance opportunities to reduce air emissions, water use, and energy consumption.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, assess business impacts, and provide clear summaries to internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage technical and non-technical regulatory risks; recommend mitigations to support project success.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders to support compliance and address emerging issues.
  • Engage regulators, consultants, operations, and cross-functional teams; maintain organized records of submissions and communications.
  • Coordinate internal and external support during compliance audits and assessments; contribute to reporting on program effectiveness.
  • Collaborate across the business to understand strategic objectives and resolve regulatory matters tied to projects.
  • Manage timelines, decision points, and key milestones; provide streamlined regulatory support for drilling operations and facility projects.
