About The Position

The Regulation Coach plays a vital role in helping children and teens develop healthy self-regulation skills. The coach is responsible for the Regulation Room, a dedicated space designed to help the brain and body achieve calm and focus. By implementing individualized regulation plans, the Regulation Coach provides clients with opportunities to manage stress, regulate emotions, and develop coping strategies in a safe and supportive environment. This role is primarily education-focused, working directly with students in the classroom to support learning and emotional growth. The Regulation Coach also assists in the residential milieu as needed, collaborating with staff to de-escalate challenging behaviors and reinforce regulation strategies across all settings.

Requirements

  • 60 College Credit Hours or Paraprofessional Certificate OR Substitute Teaching Certificate
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Safe Crisis Management (SCM) Certification and utilize SCM when safety needs require it
  • Possess a current, valid MO class E driver's license and meet the KVC requirements for driver’s insurance
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language proficiently
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in all transactions and communications
  • Current, valid driver's license and meet KVC requirement for driver’s insurance
  • Must be 21 years old to apply
  • Pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check required
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of emotional disorders, behavior disorders, trauma and crisis intervention/prevention
  • Experience working with children and families in a trauma informed environment
