About The Position
This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position in Mathematical Methods II (MAT1302, Section C00) for the Fall 2026 semester within the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Ottawa. The course covers the solution of systems of linear equations, matrix algebra, determinants, complex numbers, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, and an introduction to vector spaces. Applications are limited to Regular Part-Time Professors. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025), which does not include vacation or statutory pay. These rates are subject to change upon ratification of a new collective agreement, with retroactivity applied after ratification. The language of instruction is English.
Requirements
- PhD in mathematics.
- Expert level knowledge of LaTeX (the universal mathematical editor).
- Must coordinate (across all sections).
- An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
- Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate across all sections of the course.
- Teach Mathematical Methods II (MAT1302, Section C00).
- Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
