About The Position
The Department of Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach PHI1370-B00, Philosophical Issues in Health Care, during the 2027 Winter Semester. This course explores philosophical issues, principally ethical, in medicine and healthcare. The expected enrollment is 150 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The teaching mode is in-person, with classes scheduled on Mondays from 10:00 AM to 11:20 AM and Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 9:50 AM. The hiring process will be governed by the current APTPUO collective agreements.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Philosophy.
- Experience in teaching at the university level in Philosophy.
- Competence in English (language of instruction).

- An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach PHI1370-B00, Philosophical Issues in Health Care.
- Develop and submit a syllabus for approval by the Director of Undergraduate Studies, Department of Philosophy.
- Conduct classes in person on Mondays and Wednesdays.
- Potentially complete mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
