About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the DVM 4520 A00 course, 'Enjeux de développement international en Afrique' (International Development Issues in Africa), during the Fall 2026 semester at the Main Campus. The course is a 3-credit lecture-based course with a historical perspective on international development in Africa, covering colonialism, political regimes, population, and conflicts. It also delves into current and emerging development issues such as health, education, food security, economy, human rights, and debt. The course is taught in French and requires a prerequisite of 54 university credits, including DVM 2505 and DVM 2506. The class is scheduled for Mondays from 14:30 to 17:20 and will be delivered in person. Requirements

  • Completed or in the process of completing a Doctorate in international development or a related field.
  • 54 university credits including DVM 2505, DVM 2506.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course DVM 4520 Enjeux de développement international en Afrique (3 credits).
  • Provide historical perspective on international development in Africa (colonialism, political regimes, population, conflicts).
  • Address development axes, current and emerging issues related to international development initiatives in Africa: health, education, food security, economy (natural and human resources, debt burden, economic models, development strategies), human rights.
  • Deliver the course in person.
  • Develop and submit a course outline (minimum two pages) indicating how the course expectations will be met.
