About The Position
This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Introduction to Social Sciences (SCS1550 A00) during the Fall 2026 semester. The course aims to develop general knowledge for understanding social sciences, its main themes, and its particular perspective on social realities. It also focuses on acquiring the necessary skills to understand the functioning of societies and the contribution of different social science disciplines. Students will engage in critical reading, analysis, and the development of informed arguments based on existing data and various types of documents from diverse sources. The course is taught in French and is scheduled to meet on Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM, in person.
Requirements
- PhD in sociology or completed doctoral coursework in sociology or equivalent training in social sciences.
- Demonstrated expertise and ability to teach an introductory social sciences course, evidenced by teaching identical or similar courses or by publications in the field.
- Competence in a second language (passive).
