About The Position
This course, Written Advocacy in Intellectual Property (CML3184), is an experiential learning opportunity designed to equip students with practical skills in written advocacy. It involves preparing factums and other written submissions for an intellectual property moot competition. The course aims to prepare students for success as intellectual property advocates in various settings, including administrative, trial, and appellate courtrooms, as well as national legislative processes, international lawmaking forums, and public debates.
Requirements
- LL.B., J.D., or equivalent degree.
- Membership in the Law Society of Ontario (or equivalent) in good standing.
- Significant expertise and experience in intellectual property.
- Significant expertise and experience in written advocacy.
Nice To Haves
- Prior teaching experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach Written Advocacy in Intellectual Property (CML3184).
- Prepare students for participation in an intellectual property moot competition.
- Develop practical skills in written advocacy, including the preparation of factums and other written submissions.
