About The Position

The Registration Representative will be proficient in the patient registration and scheduling requirements of the Outpatient functions. They will act as the financial interpreter for patients by advising them of their financial responsibilities and providing concise and easily understood information about their healthcare coverage. The role involves receiving and screening visitors and telephone calls for the department, scheduling outpatient services, and performing the registration process in accordance with Hospital and Departmental policies and procedures. A thorough understanding of all other operational functions within the department is expected, along with proficiency in downtime procedures.

Requirements

Medical Terminology required
Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
ICD coding experience
Strong customer service skills
Knowledge of third party payer, federal and state regulations desired
Highly motivated
Enthusiastic team player

Responsibilities

Proficient in the patient registration and scheduling requirements of the Outpatient functions
Act as the financial interpreter for patients by advising them of their financial responsibilities.
Provide patients or their legal representative with concise and easily understood information about their healthcare coverage.
Receive and screen visitors and telephone calls for department.
Schedule outpatient services.
Perform registration process in accordance with Hospital and Departmental policies and procedures.
Possess a thorough understanding of all other operational functions within the department.
Demonstrate proficiency in downtime procedures.
