The Registration & Elections Coordinator leads and coordinates daily work activities of assigned staff. This role involves conferring with supervisors for direction, organizing tasks, monitoring work in progress, and inspecting completed work. The coordinator also confers with coworkers, assists with complex situations, provides technical expertise, and aids in training and instructing colleagues on operational procedures and equipment use. Additionally, they assist with supervision by reporting employee issues and providing input on disciplinary actions and performance evaluations. The position requires entering and verifying new voter registration information, conducting research, mailing letters for missing information, updating existing records, filing, scanning, and indexing applications, and filing records after processing. A key responsibility is recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training poll officials and temporary workers, including creating online and in-person training, writing election procedures, updating manuals, reserving training locations, creating schedules, and overseeing the distribution of training materials. The role also involves monitoring and managing county-wide master street files, district lines, and precinct maps, including inputting new streets, correcting precinct placements, changing boundary lines, maintaining and drawing district lines, ensuring accuracy, redistricting, creating, and renaming polling places, and creating precinct maps. The coordinator conducts site visits to ensure polling site preparedness, checks voter identification, verifies voter information, assists and answers voter questions, resolves problems and conflicts, ensures proper signage, prints election results and zero tapes, completes recap sheets, and stores absentee applications. They coordinate election activities, supervise early voting polls, request equipment and supplies, issue paper ballots, manage the balloting printer, verify ballot accuracy, inspect generated ballots, and perform close-out duties. Maintaining inventory of election equipment and office supplies, and updating inventories after each election are also required. The role processes jury summons follow-up questions, name and address changes, and sends follow-up questionnaires.
