Registration Authority Officer (RAO)
About The Position
The Registration Authority Officer manages registration operations for DOE/NNSA classified networks according to the Registration Practice Statement (RPS). Key duties include enforcing PKI policies and procedures, handling token distribution, issuing certificates, user registration, hardware lifecycle management, and training trusted roles. Additional responsibilities cover user identification, authentication, certificate revocation and restoration, and key recovery. RA Officers, designated as trusted roles, specifically approve System and Device certificates. They also support agency Trusted Agents and collaborate with PKI staff, including System Administrators and Security Auditors.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain an access authorization via a background investigation by the Federal government.
- Must be able to pass a drug test for illegal drugs.
- May be required to undergo a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination if the position is covered by Counterintelligence Evaluation Program regulations.
