About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registrar ER to admit all patients in a timely manner. This role ensures all current information is documented, signatures are received, insurance is verified, authorizations are obtained, and deductibles or co-pays are requested. The Registrar ER is also responsible for ensuring correct wristbands are applied, advance directives are provided, and patient questions are answered. This position plays a critical role in the patient admission process, contributing to a seamless and supportive patient experience.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Relevant Work Experience
Less than 1 year of experience

Experience in information technology and informatics
Experience in finance, administration, legal and community affairs
Experience in human resources, communications and marketing
Experience in development, facilities

Responsibilities

Admit all patients in a timely and accurate manner
Ensure all current information has been documented, signatures received, insurance has been verified, authorizations received and the deductibles or co-pays have been requested in a compliant manner
Ensure the wrist bands are put on the proper patients, advance directives given to each patient and patients receive the answer to any questions or concerns they may have
Serve as back up for the phone operator as needed
Assist with in-patient patient admissions, including OB, as needed
