About The Position

The Field Supervisor role is based out of the Lebanon Office in Lebanon, TN. This position involves assisting field staff in meeting qualifications for quality client care, supporting staff education, and supervising personal support staff. The role requires strong leadership, adherence to policies, dependability, honesty, independence, initiative, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and productivity. The Field Supervisor must maintain professional appearance, participate in special projects and overtime as needed, attend and/or conduct training, and uphold strict confidentiality regarding business and client information. Safety is paramount, especially when using communication devices while driving and adhering to traffic regulations. The position also involves monitoring field staff performance, conducting client admissions and supervisory visits, investigating critical incidents, assisting with disciplinary actions, and ensuring agency compliance with all relevant Federal, State, and Local regulations for Personal Support Services.

Requirements

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the framework, organization and function of the Personal Support Services program.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the principles and methods involved in supervising field staff.
  • Must be capable of performing job duties physically, mentally, and independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and in groups.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • The work requires the ability to safely transport oneself to and from multiple client homes and work sites on a regular, daily basis in a multi-county area.
  • The work will require some lifting, pulling, bending, pushing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and carrying of light and heavy items, such as books, papers, files and/or office supplies, often at least 20 lbs. weight.
  • There will be short to long periods of transferring, standing and sitting.
  • Must have mental ability to exercise good judgment in decision-making, including while driving and while in client homes.
  • Ability to walk independently up and down a normal flight of 13-15 stairs.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting field staff in meeting the qualifications to deliver quality care to the clients.
  • Assisting in staff education including orientation, proficiency check-offs, and annual education programs as assigned by the upper management.
  • Supervising and exhibiting leadership capabilities and providing guidance and instruction to personal support staff as needed.
  • Monitoring field staff performance to assure adherence to insurance and state regulations.
  • Performing client admissions timely and accurately. Soliciting necessary client-specific information to support the client’s admission to the agency as set forth by PSSA regulations.
  • Performing supervisory visits to client’s homes in a timely manner and submitting related documentation timely.
  • Using initiative and self-direction to schedule admissions and supervisory visits the day prior.
  • Reporting negative comments, complaints, concerns/issues discovered during home visits, to upper management in a timely manner.
  • Assisting in the investigation of critical incidents as directed by upper management and documenting findings in a timely manner.
  • Assisting in providing disciplinary action to field employees as needed and directed from upper management.
  • Submitting records and reports timely as required by administration. Submitting paperwork that is neat, legible, and written in dark-colored ink.
  • Performing field staff performance/competency evaluations within 30 days of employment and at least yearly thereafter.
  • Assisting, as needed, in client care, including covering shifts.
  • Ensuring agency compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations related to the delivery of Personal Support Services and making available reports as needed.
  • Acknowledging and following policies and procedures, as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Recording time worked accurately and using the approved method.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned, as warranted by the job.
