About The Position
Indian Tree Animal Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to deliver comprehensive, high-quality veterinary care at its modern, full-service facility in Arvada, Colorado. The technician will support veterinarians and provide hands-on care to patients while communicating compassionately with pet owners and maintaining safe, clean, and well-prepared clinical areas. The hospital has served the Arvada community since 1990 and emphasizes expert care, modern technology, evidence-based medicine, and an inclusive team environment. This is a full-time position working 38–40 hours per week. Availability is needed Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Candidates must be available for at least two closing shifts per week and every other Saturday. Compensation is $29.00–$32.00 per hour, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- Active Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification.
- Confidence and compassion in animal handling and restraint.
- Working knowledge of common disease states and the ability to identify changes in a patient's condition.
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety protocols.
- Availability for at least two closing shifts per week and every other Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, anesthesia administration, and patient recovery.
- Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
- Communicate clearly with pet owners, including explaining care instructions and providing updates.
- Perform technical procedures, including laboratory work, radiographs, IV catheter placement, and injections.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with dispensing medications.
- Keep examination rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready for use.
- Follow hospital, DEA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
