About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring a part-time Registered Veterinary Technician for Purple Paws Pet Clinic in Coronado, California. The clinic is a full-service small-animal hospital with three dedicated veterinarians and a support team. It provides medical, surgical, dental, diagnostic, and preventive-wellness care, using modern equipment including in-house ultrasound. The RVT is expected to practice at the top of their license and serve as a clinical leader with a patient-first mindset. The clinic follows AAHA utilization guidance and offers structured career growth, skills-based advancement, and leadership development. The listed wage range is $30.00–$32.00 per hour.

Requirements

Hold a valid California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) state license.

Responsibilities

Perform IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, anesthesia induction, and advanced anesthesia monitoring and recovery.
Perform full-mouth dental radiography, dental charting, and periodontal therapy under a veterinarian’s direction.
Obtain and position patients for radiographs, conduct in-house laboratory analysis, and collect samples.
Monitor critical patients, provide advanced wound care, and manage catheters and feeding tubes.
Lead technician appointments and team huddles.
Mentor assistants and externs.
