About The Position

The Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) builds positive client relationships by displaying genuine care and compassion towards clients and their pets, being respectful in all interactions and providing exceptional customer service. The RVT also assists the Veterinarian with medical, surgical and dental procedures, by using a range of diagnostic equipment, preparing patients, instruments and equipment for surgery; and administering and monitoring medicines under the direction of a Veterinarian.

Requirements

Must have passed the VTNE or be eligible to write the VTNE.
Must be in good standing with the provincial regulatory association.
Successfully completed a 2 or 3-year accredited Canadian Veterinary or Animal Health Technician Diploma Program.

Responsibilities

Assists the Veterinarian with medical, surgical and dental procedures.
Uses a range of diagnostic equipment.
Prepares patients, instruments and equipment for surgery.
Administers and monitors medicines under the direction of a Veterinarian.
Builds positive client relationships by displaying genuine care and compassion towards clients and their pets.
Is respectful in all interactions.
Provides exceptional customer service.
