About The Position

As Colorado Animal Specialty & Emergency (CASE) continues to grow and expand its emergency and specialty services, we are adding to our support team and seeking ER/ICU Veterinary Technicians to help ensure our patients receive safe, effective care and that our clinicians have the support they need to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. Located in Boulder, Colorado, CASE is a state-of-the-art, 35,000+ square-foot specialty and emergency hospital providing advanced care across multiple specialties and 24/7 emergency services. Our collaborative team includes board-certified specialists, experienced technicians, and dedicated support staff who are committed to delivering exceptional patient care while fostering a culture of teamwork, learning, and professional growth. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician in our Emergency/ICU department, you will play a crucial role in the care and treatment of critically ill and emergency patients. Under the supervision of specialists, emergency doctors, and department leads, you will provide essential triage, nursing, and monitoring, ensuring our patients receive the highest quality care throughout their stay.

Requirements

  • Must be CVT, LVT, RVT, or PVT certified in Colorado.
  • Two years in emergency/critical care preferred.
  • Excellent communication, ability to work independently, strong technical skills in veterinary procedures, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • One shift every 4 weeks after training completion.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Triage and manage emergency calls and walk-ins, conduct patient assessments, and provide comprehensive nursing care.
  • Perform venipuncture, place catheters, and execute emergency procedures such as airway management and oxygen administration.
  • Process and evaluate lab specimens, run CBCs, coagulation tests, and handle urinalysis.
  • Engage with pet owners, provide discharge instructions, and support clients with empathetic communication.
  • Maintain and stock ICU/Isolation supplies, ensure a clean and organized work environment, and handle reception tasks as needed.
