Veterinary Technician, Emergency Per Diem LVT/CVT/RVT $25 - $29/hr. | Experienced Technicians $20 - $25/hr. | +$2/hr. partial Shift Differential Swing/Overnight | Frisco, TX If you're a Veterinary Technician looking to advance your emergency and critical care skills in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, North Dallas Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital (ND VESH) offers the opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled emergency and specialty team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. Located in Frisco, TX, our 13,000+ square foot state-of-the-art facility provides advanced emergency and specialty services in a collaborative hospital environment. Technicians work closely with Emergency, Critical Care, Surgery, and Specialty teams while gaining exposure to complex medical cases, advanced procedures, and cutting-edge nephrology and urology services.

Requirements

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) preferred.
  • Experienced Veterinary Technicians with a minimum of two years of veterinary experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Emergency, specialty, or critical care experience preferred.
  • Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
  • Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, radiology safety, fluid therapy, and emergency patient care.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and commitment to fostering a positive team culture.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced emergency environment.
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required; multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate nursing care to emergency and critical care patients throughout hospitalization and recovery.
  • Place IV catheters, collect blood samples, administer medications, and manage IV fluid therapy.
  • Assist with emergency diagnostics, treatments, and supportive care procedures.
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist with emergency and surgical procedures.
  • Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and report changes in patient condition.
  • Safely restrain and handle patients while maintaining comfort and minimizing stress.
  • Accurately document treatments, diagnostics, and patient observations in medical records.
  • Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and clients regarding patient care plans.
  • Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and client education.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment and treatment areas.
