About The Position

Veritas Veterinary Partners is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician specializing in Cardiology for PESCM, a 24/7 veterinary hospital in Marin County. Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Technician required
  • 2+ years working as a veterinary technician
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring
  • Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens
  • Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • Understanding of normal vs abnormal physiologic ranges
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
  • Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected
  • Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently

Nice To Haves

  • Additional fluency in other languages is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and cardiologists with echocardiograms, ECG placement and monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, and Holter monitor placement and client education.
  • Provide sedation and anesthesia support.
  • Assist with interventional cardiology procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain sterile procedure areas and specialized equipment.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
  • Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and medication administration.
  • Provide compassionate client communication and education.
  • Accurately maintain medical records and treatment documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with specialty, ER, anesthesia, and ICU teams.
