About The Position
Veritas Veterinary Partners is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician specializing in Cardiology for PESCM, a 24/7 veterinary hospital in Marin County. Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Technician required
- 2+ years working as a veterinary technician
- Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring
- Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens
- Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Understanding of normal vs abnormal physiologic ranges
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
- Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected
- Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently
Nice To Haves
- Additional fluency in other languages is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and cardiologists with echocardiograms, ECG placement and monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, and Holter monitor placement and client education.
- Provide sedation and anesthesia support.
- Assist with interventional cardiology procedures.
- Prepare and maintain sterile procedure areas and specialized equipment.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and medication administration.
- Provide compassionate client communication and education.
- Accurately maintain medical records and treatment documentation.
- Collaborate closely with specialty, ER, anesthesia, and ICU teams.
