About The Position

The Cardiology Technician/Assistant works collaboratively with their assigned veterinarian, other staff veterinarians and the entire Angell West support staff to provide our clientele with excellent clinical and customer service. These services include providing technical support in the examination room with outpatient and in-patient procedures, assisting with case management of animals admitted to the hospital, assisting with technical procedures, communications with clients and sometimes referring veterinarians. They assist the veterinarian in clinic, radiology and in other areas of the hospital as needed. Angell West is a 24-hour emergency and referral satellite hospital in the west suburbs of Boston, providing a unique opportunity to practice in an intimate client-focused setting, but with numerous amenities from the larger MSPCA-Angell Boston hospital as support. Requirements

At least two years of experience working as a veterinary technician/assistant
Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-veterinarian hospital, emergency practice, or veterinary teaching hospital is ideal
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must include a cover letter showcasing writing skills

Responsibilities

Providing technical support in the examination room with outpatient and in-patient procedures
Assisting with case management of animals admitted to the hospital
Assisting with technical procedures
Communications with clients and sometimes referring veterinarians
Assisting the veterinarian in clinic, radiology and in other areas of the hospital as needed
Coordinating with other Cardiology staff members
Preparing histories for appointments
Creating admission packets including generating estimates
Setting up the appointment room
Handling the patient for exams as needed
Transporting animals safely adhering to hospital policies and procedures
Returning client calls/emails in order of priority, relaying messages to doctors as needed
Scheduling recheck exams and diagnostic imaging as needed
Maintaining communication with clients as directed by the doctor
Completing all required paperwork neatly and accurately
Maintaining electronic and hardcopy medical records accurately
