About The Position

The PRN Registered Vascular Technician will deliver care to patients utilizing the Registered Vascular Technician Process. This role will perform diagnostic carotid arterials and venous studies of upper and lower extremities and venous studies of patients with suspected peripheral vascular disease by following ICAVL guidelines. The technician will also prepare and maintain operations logs, calibrate and maintain equipment, and order supplies when necessary. They will explain procedures to patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxieties, and communicate with physicians, managers, and co-workers about changes in patient’s clinical conditions while undergoing vascular procedures. The technician will conduct vascular laboratory studies in accordance with the vascular laboratory protocols, ensure studies are scheduled appropriately, and maintain the vascular laboratory quality assurance database. Finally, they will review test results with the interpreting physician.

Requirements

  • 1 Year Related experience in a Vascular Laboratory (required)
  • RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist Upon Hire (required) or RVS - Registered Vascular Sonographer Upon Hire (required)
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support Exception Quarterly 90 Days Upon Hire (required)
  • Possess an excellent working knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary anatomy/pathology, the cardiac patient, and treatment of cardiac diseases
  • Have working knowledge of vascular arterial and venous anatomy for carotid and peripheral vasculature
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have good computer skills
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree Related field (preferred)
  • Graduate of accredited ultrasound technology program (preferred)
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Reviews test results with interpreting physician.
