About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist assesses, treats, and cares for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. They evaluate, monitor, and rehab lung function across all age groups, from newborns to the elderly.

Requirements

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), if employee was credentialed by the NBRC on or after July 1, 2002, they must participate in the Credential Maintenance Program to maintain your NBRC credentials.
  • Graduate of a two (2) year AMA approved Respiratory Care Program
  • Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy
  • Licensed by the State of Florida Department of Professional Regulations
  • Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS & PALS
  • A minimum of one (1) year post-graduate clinical experience in Respiratory Care procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Credentials awarded prior to July 1, 2002, are not subject to the Credential Maintenance Program
  • Therapists working in NICU must have a current NRP certification
