This role involves the competent delivery of all Respiratory Care procedures as outlined in the department policy and procedure manual. The therapist will maintain accurate documentation, verify physician's orders, and prepare reports. Responsibilities include attending meetings, updating supervisors on workload and patient acuity, and performing data entry for services and charges. A strong working knowledge of Respiratory Care instruments and equipment, including troubleshooting, is essential. The role also requires effective airway management, assisting with intubation, and performing arterial blood gas draws. Additionally, the therapist will initiate, maintain, and monitor ventilator patients, interpret data for clinical changes, and complete required training. Compliance with personal protective equipment requirements and patient charge reconciliation are also key duties. The position requires proficiency in all assigned modalities, translating medication into pediatric and neonatal doses, and assessing the needs of adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients, including mechanical ventilation. The ability to fully assess patient respiratory status, make recommendations, and document progress is crucial. Other duties as assigned are also part of the role.
