Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Science or equivalent
- Current New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License (RRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of two years of hospital experience preferred
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 30 days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 30 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and interpret results to develop treatment plans for cardiopulmonary conditions
- Perform EKGs, assist with intubations, and manage ventilators
- Administer respiratory treatments, airway care, and ventilation management
- Provide respiratory care consultation and guidance to physicians, nurses, and clinical staff
- Offer technical expertise to ensure proper equipment use and adherence to best practices
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and home care
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards
