About The Position
The respiratory therapist is responsible for providing pulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician's orders, department policies & procedures. The RRT 2 is trained to work independently in either PEDIATRICS And or Trauma ICU.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program
- 0 - 2 yrs experience
- REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST (Florida) license
- BLS/CPR (AMERICAN HEART ASSN) certification
- ACLS (AMERICAN HEART ASSN) certification
- PALS (AMERICAN HEART ASSN) certification WITHIN 90 DAYS OF HIRE
Responsibilities
- Sets-ups & monitors mechanical ventilators & BIPAP/CPAP machines & performs the associated critical duties required for such as airway management & tracheal suctioning.
- Demonstrates critical care assessment skills, judgment, and decision making necessary for the trauma step down and trauma code.
- Administers respiratory therapy procedures; understands the purpose of each and the possible side effects associated with each.
