About The Position

HPHA is a multi-site organization that includes Clinton Public Hospital, St. Marys Memorial Hospital, Seaforth Community Hospital and Stratford General Hospital. This position is located at St Marys Memorial Hospital in the Inpatient Unit.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma from a recognized and accredited College/University
  • Current Registration and Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Basic Life Support certificate (BLS)

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate preferred
  • Education related to geriatric care preferred (ex. Gentle Persuasive Approaches)
  • Minimum of two (2) years related nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • IV drug administration
  • Insertion of Gastric tubes
  • Flushing of PRN adaptors
  • Subcutaneous portal insertion and drug administration
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a mixed inpatient caseload including acute care, complex continuing care, rehabilitation, paediatrics and palliative
  • Demonstrated ability to work on an interdisciplinary team including community partners
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing continuing education
  • Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position
