About The Position

Central Pharmacy Services (CPS) is a division of Loblaw/Shoppers Drug Mart that centrally fills prescriptions for patients and provides other prescription processing services. CPS is undergoing a transformation to revolutionize healthcare across Canada by creating the most streamlined and versatile central fill network in the country. This role is crucial in enabling Pharmacists and their teams at Shoppers Drug Mart locations to focus on patient care by streamlining prescription functions. Requirements

• Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT), in good standing.
• Liability insurance to legally practice as an RPhT.
• A minimum of 1 year of continuous working experience in a pharmacy environment (Long Term Care, Hospital, or Retail).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to complete work with minimal supervision.
• Teammate and Leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with high volume filling environments is preferred.
• Experience working with PacMed or PacVision is an asset.
• Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring accuracy of prepared medication by checking each prescription for legal compliance and product quality, including weekly strip packaged medications, compliance packages, and all non-packaged products.
• Ensuring appropriate corrections are completed when identified.
• Accurately counting and reconciling Narcotic and Controlled medications.
• Checking products in an organized and efficient manner to maintain workflow and ensure delivery routes leave at their scheduled times.
• Protecting patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with regulations.
• Keeping current with and aligning with legal requirements, professional standards, and workplace policies and procedures.
• Promoting a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging.
