We are seeking Florida resident candidates for a remote Registered Pharmacy Technician position.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education is required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in specialty, retail, mail order, or hospital pharmacy is required.
  • Critical thinking skills including solid problem solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be detailed oriented with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness.
  • Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and sometimes emotionally charged matters.
  • Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation), is an active listener, and effectively provides balanced feedback.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is preferred.
  • Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine and non-routine pharmacy technician functions and activities.
  • Multi-tasking between multiple software programs and/or applications.
  • Handling multiple telecommunication lines.
  • Working efficiently in all Microsoft programs.
  • Exercising excellent communication skills to successfully interact with all levels of internal and external parties.
  • Ensuring all information documented is accurate to the best of the employee’s knowledge and presented in a professional manner.
  • Effectively using, pronouncing, and spelling common medical and pharmacy terms.
  • Keeping open lines of communication with their immediate supervisor and/or manager.
  • Working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Performing pharmacy insurance data entry and verification of insurance benefits.
  • Providing exceptional service to patients, staff, insurance representatives, pharmaceutical representatives, vendors, and fellow employees.
  • Interacting in a professional manner with all contacts to promote effective exchanges of information.
  • Serving as the first line of communication for inbound/outbound telephonic calls, e-mails, and internal computer program communications for the pharmacy department.
  • Coordinating with appropriate teams in the pharmacy to expedite all pharmacy services.
  • Documenting and encouraging therapy adherence under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
  • Maintaining accurate medication information (missed doses, medication reconciliation, patient-reported side effects, and dose changes).
  • Investigating prescription barriers.
  • Reporting order updates to the clinic.
  • Scheduling orders for delivery/pickup in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that prescriptions are processed for eligible patients and properly billed to their benefit plan.
  • Working with insurance companies to resolve billing issues.
  • Communicating any potential delays to the appropriate pharmacy staff members.
  • Providing support to the Revenue Manager for the day-to-day financial operations of the pharmacy.
  • Being an active member of the audit team.
  • Dispensing oral oncology medications under the supervision of the Dispensing Operations Pharmacist.
  • Accurately counting and filling oral oncology medications.
  • Ordering and stocking oral oncology medications.
  • Packaging and shipping oral oncology medications.
