About The Position

The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is responsible for the respiratory care and treatment of patients throughout the hospital. The CRT handles aerosol therapy, BLS, ventilator care, oxygen, and other respiratory therapy related treatments or interventions. The CRT is also responsible for reading and interpreting physician prescriptions and orders to determine requirements for treatment such as type and duration of treatment. The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for the respiratory care and treatment of patients throughout the hospital. The RRT handles aerosol therapy, BLS, ventilator care, oxygen, etc. The RRT is responsible for reading physician prescriptions to determine requirements for treatment such as type and duration of treatment.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NRP certification
• PALS certification
• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Clinical training acquired through educational processes
• Ohio Licensure
• National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification required for Registered Respiratory Therapists

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care and treatment of patients throughout the hospital.
• Handle aerosol therapy, BLS, ventilator care, and oxygen treatments.
• Perform other respiratory therapy related treatments or interventions.
• Read and interpret physician prescriptions and orders to determine treatment requirements (type and duration).
