The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is responsible for the respiratory care and treatment of patients throughout the hospital. The CRT handles aerosol therapy, BLS, ventilator care, oxygen, and other respiratory therapy related treatments or interventions. The CRT is also responsible for reading and interpreting physician prescriptions and orders to determine requirements for treatment such as type and duration of treatment. The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for the respiratory care and treatment of patients throughout the hospital. The RRT handles aerosol therapy, BLS, ventilator care, oxygen, etc. The RRT is responsible for reading physician prescriptions to determine requirements for treatment such as type and duration of treatment.
