About The Position

This is a professional Registered Nurse Consultant position within the Division of Children’s Medical Services Quality Assurance and Clinical Education unit. As an integral member of the team, this individual is responsible for providing technical assistance, nursing expertise and oversight of activities related to the Children's Multidisciplinary Assessment Team Program in relation to program development and providing health care quality management and improvements in the statewide Children's Medical Services Program.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing
  • 1-3 years of pediatric nursing experience.
  • Experience in quality assurance, program evaluation, and tracking implementation of actions to ensure correction of non-compliance identified through monitoring.
  • Experience with Florida Medicaid as it applies to children and youth, and Department of Children and Families as it relates to foster care.
  • Experience providing training or developing training tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing consultation, policy direction, implementation and technical assistance to CMAT staff, and community partners (CBC, MMA plans) related to the clinical aspects of programmatic matters, quality improvement methods, concepts and requirements.
  • Participates in the development, revision, and ongoing maintenance of CMAT program policies, Internal Training Manual, and reports.
  • Provides monthly compilation and analysis of CMAT client and staffing reports for quality improvement processes.
  • Conducts performance improvement activities and reviews of CMAT programs including annual reviews to ensure compliance in carrying out federal and state requirements.
  • Analyzes quarterly reports submitted by CMS staff or providers, conduct reviews for performance improvement, analyzes data to develop an annual report.
  • Works with CMAT staff to provide ongoing consultation and technical assistance to determine needs related to program policies and data management.
  • Review data, assessments, documentation, and staffing summaries verifying accuracy and quality.
  • Participates on various work groups, team, committees related to program related issues and topics.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
