About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in the Med Surg department at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. The role follows established policies and protocols, implements and monitors patient care plans, coordinates care with multidisciplinary teams, carries out physician and nursing orders, and participates in patient discharge planning. Multiple shifts are available, with a schedule of 36 to 48 hours per week.

Requirements

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification accepted.
• Registered Nurse licensure obtained before hire or job transfer; a compact RN license or state RN license relevant to the travel assignment location is required before the assignment starts.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing.
• One year of RN experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care following established policies and protocols.
• Implement, monitor, and record patient care plans and patient conditions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and manage patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
