About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at Aspirus Wausau Hospital is a professional who is accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care using evidence-based practice. The role also contributes to ongoing improvements in nursing-care quality through collecting and analyzing data. The position is full-time at 0.9 FTE, or 72 hours per pay period, and works varied 12-hour shifts, every third weekend, and a holiday rotation.
Requirements
- Associate degree in nursing.
- Active Wisconsin and/or Michigan RN nursing license.
- Current BLS certification, or obtain it within 90 days of hire.
- Maintain specialty certification as required by the department’s scope of service.
- Required credentials listed: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Registered Nurse License, and CPR or BLS.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- Specialty certification desired.
- Ideally, at least three years of RN practice in a comparable setting.
- ACLS, PALS, or Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification may be required depending on the primary department.
