About The Position

The Registered Nurse applies the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including patient and family education and continuum-of-care planning. The role communicates relevant patient and family information to the health care team, collaborates in establishing patient goals, and evaluates progress to support effective outcomes. The nurse also pursues professional growth through learning activities consistent with Board of Nursing standards. This position is with Vanderbilt Health’s Main OR Trauma/Renal organization. It calls for foundational proficiency in evidence-based practice, care planning, patient education, and patient assessment and evaluation. The nurse gathers and analyzes clinical information, recognizes problems, and works with the primary care provider and other health care team members as needed. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
Registered Nurse licensure.
One year of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

Collaborate in establishing the plan of care and coordinate and implement care delivery, anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
Analyze comprehensive information relevant to patient care and management to determine nursing diagnoses.
Use the nursing process to evaluate patient progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions to support effective outcomes.
Employ strategies that promote health and a safe, healthy environment.
Provide patient and family education and contribute to continuity-of-care planning.
Communicate pertinent patient and family information to the health care team.
Engage in learning activities to further professional growth according to Board of Nursing standards.
