About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in the 48-bed Progressive Care Unit at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital. The unit cares for patients who are stable enough to be outside the intensive care unit but need more monitoring and medical attention than a standard care unit provides. Patient populations include post-surgical and respiratory patients, patients with sepsis or infections, and patients experiencing exacerbations of chronic illnesses. The unit provides telemetry, continuous monitoring, and specialized nursing to support patients’ recovery and safe transition of care. This is a variable full-time night position, scheduled for three 12-hour shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with rotating weekends. The nurse assesses patients, develops and updates individualized plans of care, evaluates progress, advocates for patients and families, and collaborates with medical staff and the interdisciplinary team. The role may also serve as preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician. Orlando Health Dr. P.
