About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the 48-bed Progressive Care Unit at Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital. The unit cares for patients who are stable enough to leave intensive care but need more monitoring and medical attention than a standard care unit can provide. Patients include post-surgical and respiratory patients, people with sepsis or infections, and patients experiencing exacerbations of chronic conditions. The unit provides telemetry, continuous monitoring, and specialized nursing to support patient safety and recovery. This is a variable full-time position on the day shift, with three 12-hour shifts and rotating weekends. The nurse assesses patients, develops and revises individualized plans of care, evaluates progress, advocates for patients and families, and collaborates with medical staff and the interdisciplinary team. The role may also include serving as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, or nurse clinician. Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips is a 285-bed hospital offering specialty services including diagnostic imaging, cardiovascular care, orthopedics, surgery, and emergency medicine. Its onsite Team Member Wellness Center includes a fitness facility, a tranquility space, and wellness activities.
