About The Position

Sentara CarePlex Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Medicine Unit. This is a 24-bed unit where we care for patients with a variety of healthcare needs, serving as the designated Stroke Unit. We provide care for respiratory compromised patients on Bipap, high-flo and/or chronic long term vents, and manipulate and titrate vasoactive infusions with bedside monitors. We also care for patients with DKA, CHF, Pneumonia, and more. New graduates are welcome to apply and can participate in the Nurse Residency Program. The primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, giving medications, talking with family members, and being responsible for the overall care of your patients. Teamwork is exceptional on this unit.

Requirements

• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
• RN-Associate’s Degree, or RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or RN-Diploma, or RN-Master’s Degree

• Less than one year experience (for Nurse Residency Program)
